International Relationship

*China and New Zealand issued a joint statement on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the People's Republic of China and New Zealand. The prime ministers of the two countries witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents such as technology, education, agriculture, forestry, quarantine, food safety and intellectual property rights.

 

Industrial Economy

*National Beidou foundation enhancement system completed comprehensive security upgrade, covering 3,700 Beidou foundation enhancement stations.

*Samsung has increased its procurement of Chinese LCD TV panels and the estimated proportion of procurement will reach 60% this year. With the estimated product share of China Star Optoelectronics is 26%, HKC21%, BOE and Rainbow Optoelectronics accounting for 11% and 2% respectively.

*The State Council and the Central Military Commission jointly announced the implementation of the "Interim Regulations on the Management of Flight for Driverless Aircraft" which will be implemented from January 1st, 2024.

*SASAC held a special meeting on deepening the digital transformation of state-owned enterprises in Tonglu, Zhejiang which pointed out that state-owned enterprises should strengthen benchmarking evaluation, promote pilot demonstrations, improve institutional mechanisms, comprehensively improve the level of digital and intelligent development, better play the role of scientific and technological innovation, industrial control and safety support for state-owned enterprises and make greater contributions to accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system and promoting high-quality development of the real economy.

 

Financials

*HKEX announced that the new IPO settlement platform FINI will be launched in October this year. The time between pricing and the start of trading of shares has been significantly shortened from five business days (T.5) to two business days (T.2). Fini will carry out comprehensive modernization and digital reforms on the settlement process of Hong Kong's initial public offering, improve efficiency, and promote the long-term development of Hong Kong as a global fundraising center.

*CPCAAUTO: From June 1st to 25th, retail sales of passenger car market reached 1.354mio units, down 1% y/y and up 9% m/m, with retail sales of NEV 500k units, up 13% y/y and up 15% m/m.

* Global crude oil price moved up collectively. August NYMEX crude oil contract up 2.14% to closed at $69.15/b, September Brent contract up 1.78% to closed at $73.80/b. INE crude oil active contract up 1.46% to 543.8 yuan/b.

* Precious metals closed mixed collectively. COMEX gold contract down 0.38% to closed at $1916.5/oz. SHFE gold active contract up 0.02% and closed at 447.52 yuan/gram.

* Metals closed down collectively, LME nickel down 3.65%, LME copper down 1.48%, LME lead down 0.91%. SHFE nickel down 1.77%, bonded copper down 0.80%, SHFE tin down 0.78%, SHFE copper down 0.68%.

* Commodity futures closed up mostly. Chemistry and energy products saw strong performance, methanol up 3.84%, soda ash up 1.65%, EB up 1.62%. Black series closed down mostly. Agricultural products moved up mostly, No.1 soybeans up 1.04%.
